Why Kentucky Ambassadors Soccer Club?
Posted Jan 24, 2019

What do we believe?

Our club is founded on the belief that all of us are called to be Ambassadors for Christ. In his Second Letter to the Church at Corinth, Paul implores the church, "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God." (2 Cor. 5:20). We believe the soccer field is our missions field, and we believe that through soccer we can grow our relationship with God and serve as Ambassadors to the world.

We also believe that when Jesus commanded, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you,"(Matthew 28:19-20) he wasn't simply telling us to go forward and spread God's word but to grow disciples. Our club believes in not only teaching God's word and spreading the Gospel message but also in growing disciples of the Word. We do this through structured programming that allows all of our members to strengthen their understanding of the teachings of Jesus and apply these teachings to their own lives.

What programs are available?

The Kentucky Ambassadors Soccer Club offers both select (travel) and recreational soccer options to meet the growing needs of the Bowling Green and southern Kentucky community. We are advocates for eliminating the pay-to-play model in youth soccer, and we work tirelessly to provide a professional soccer experience for ALL youth in the area regardless of their ability to pay. Our recreational program has more than 100 children from some of Bowling Green's most economically disadvantaged neighborhoods who play for FREE. These children are primarily refugees from Congo, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, and Ethiopia. We have one of the most diverse soccer programs in the entire state of Kentucky. We are also the only club in Kentucky to have select teams made up entirely of refugee athletes who would not normally be able to play travel soccer and give them the opportunity to compete with Kentucky's best.

In addition, we offer a High School Recreational League for high school athletes throughout the region to participate in a fun and structured environment during the spring season. This spring we will have both a Co-Ed and Girls League for High School athletes in southern Kentucky.

Our Select Program provides opportunities for all children in the region to play in a structured, professional club setting that is affordable yet also offers high quality training. We have some of the most experienced coaches in the area who are dedicated to working with our athletes not only to improve their abilities in soccer but to help them grow spiritually. Each of our Select Teams is assigned a Character Coach who works specifically with the team in their spiritual journey. Our highly qualified coaches work with teams to improve in all areas of the game.
